By the end of the season, as long as they keep playing like this, they should give him the job whether or not they finish in the top four.“If they don’t, I’m sure that another Premier League team will give him the job. He’s making his name once again in the top-flight and it’s great for him.“When a club legend becomes your manager, he automatically gets the attention of the players, purely because he had been there and done that.“When you are in the position of Ole, having scored so many goals and won so many trophies, he gets the attention.“He doesn’t need to yell or scream to prove anything, he just gets it.“From that point on, he needs to show them that they need to trust him, that he knows what he’s doing and, judging by the results and the way they play, it’s obviously working.”

Spain coach Moreno frustrated after Norway equaliserby Carlos Volcano13 days agoSend to a friendShare the loveSpain suffered a last gasp goal on Saturday, with Norway scoring a late equaliser to draw 1-1 and to leave coach Robert Moreno frustrated.Saul Niguez’s dipping second-half effort was cancelled out by Josh King’s injury-time penalty to ruin Spain’s 100% record in Group F.After the game, Moreno discussed the bad feeling in the dressing room.”When they equalise in the 93rd minute, you can’t feel good,” explained Moreno. “But that’s part of football.”We knew that they could be dangerous in that type of play.”In the final minutes we were a little nervous and we risked too much, but that can happen.”Despite the setback, Moreno chose to reflect on the positives from the game.”I liked the attitude of the team,” he said.”The players who played have done well.”I think we generated chances to score the second, but I wish we could have defended those plays better.” About the authorCarlos VolcanoShare the loveHave your say
point guard derryck thonton dukeJust one day after he met face-to-face with Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski, five-star Henderson (Nev.) Findlay Prep point guard Derryck Thornton has committed to the Blue Devils, according to ESPN’s Paul Biancardi. Breaking News. PG Derryck Thorton has told ESPN that he has made a verbal commitment to Duke. STORY http://t.co/cdlFzc6kM1— Paul Biancardi (@PaulBiancardi) April 21, 2015As Biancardi states, Thornton will reclassify to 2015 and enroll at Duke this summer. His decision fills a crucial void for the national champions, who didn’t have a true point guard on their roster following the departures of Quinn Cook and Tyus Jones. The 6-foot-2 Thornton will be expected to run the show for Krzyzewski’s squad, which is still in the running for a handful of 2015 recruits, including five-star wing Brandon Ingram. Despite the losses of Jones, Cook, Justise Winslow and Jahlil Okafor, Duke projects as a borderline top-10 team next season with Thornton, forward Chase Jeter, shooting guard Luke Kennard and Rice transfer Sean Obi joining a nucleus of returnees which includes starting forward Matt Jones, Final Four hero Grayson Allen and veteran big men Marshall Plumlee and Amile Jefferson.

Colin Cowherd IowaFOX Sports radio show host Colin Cowherd wasn’t very high on Iowa all year – and he made it clear on a weekly basis. Needless to say, after the Hawkeyes were dominated by Stanford in the Rose Bowl contest Friday, Cowherd felt a bit vindicated. He took to Twitter early this morning to playfully ask where all the Iowa fans had gone.Must be a power outage or something in Iowa. Awfully quiet 12 hours after being humiliated.— Colin Cowherd (@ColinCowherd) January 2, 2016Iowa, which won its first 12 games, certainly had a good season, even if it ended on a sour note. Cowherd rubbing it in isn’t really necessary – but hey, that’s what he does.
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has revealed that PSG winger Timothy Weah was given a tour of the club’s facilities earlier this month. Weah, 18, has confirmed he will leave the Ligue 1 champions on loan in January as he seeks more playing time. The U.S. international is highly rated but has played in just three games in all competitions this season for PSG, and hasn’t been in the club’s gameday squad since August. Celtic have been mentioned as a possible landing spot for Weah, along with Ligue 1 sides Strasbourg and Amiens. But Rodgers hopes that the Hoops have stolen a march on the competition by giving the teenager a VIP tour of their Lennoxtown training centre earlier this month. “PSG gave us permission to speak with Timothy and he came over with his representatives,” Rodgers said. “He had a great day here. We have good relations with PSG, so he came over.“He sent me a lovely message afterwards, thanking everyone and saying he enjoyed it, so we will see.“They clearly want him to go on loan to get experience, so he is a good kid, a great boy and a great profile in terms of his game.“There are lots of selling factors for him to come here. The club, the supporters, the intensity, the pressure, the style of football and people that he knows.“There’s many plusses that can help in the decision.”Weah’s father George was a legendary player in his day, wining the Ballon d’Or in 1995.Rodgers is hoping that his experience managing another son of a well-known player will also work out in Celtic’s favour. “I said to him: We have to do what we did with Ryan Christie! I said we had a player here who was once Charlie Christie’s son and now he’s Ryan Christie’s dad.”So our job with you is to make him [George] Timothy Weah’s dad!”Should Weah decide to make the move, he will be joining a team that currently sits top of the league, three points clear of rivals Rangers with a game in hand. That lead could disappear on Saturday when the two clubs clash in an Old Firm derby, the final match of the year for the club. Following the derby, Celtic won’t be back in action until January 19.
