FreshStax, an innovative Pasadena-based company, combines convenience, health and a socially conscious mission all in one convenient, recycleable package. The easier it is for you to do something in general you’re more likely to do it repeatedly. Our philosophy is that if people can have fresh food, fresh produce specifically already prepped and ready for them in their fridge and they just grab it and dump it in the blender that it’ll be easier for them to consume while on consistent basis,” said Skip Garrett, the co-founder and CEO of FreshStax. Not only does FreshStax take the prep work out of making healthy smoothies with fun names like the Hollywood Hills and Manhattan Beach, it has a dual mission to help people eat healthier regardless of their zip code.“The Hollywood Hills includes celery, spinach, pear and banana. The celery and spinach are really good for your skin. Asian pear is a really good source of energy and low in sugar, fat and calories. Then bananas are a natural energy source as well,” he said. The company is partnered with Groceryships, a South Central based non-profit, to distribute the fresh produce donations and work with Farm Fresh to You to source their fruits and veggies. FreshStax officially launched in August 2015 and since then has donated nearly 2,000 pounds of fresh produce, in addition to delivering over 900 smoothie kits. This month, they are hosting a crowdfunding campaign to grow their company and bring fresh smoothie kits to more people. Their Indiegogo campaign goal is $10,000 by April 9.In addition to benefiting the company and community, ten percent of the proceeds raised from a successful campaign will be go to the Dream Center, a community center in Los Angeles that was instrumental early on in helping FreshStax establish its business.“Thanks to our customers and thanks to our other friends. We really think that a successful campaign will continue the success of the business and not just benefit FreshStax – it will benefit the city of Pasadena. It’ll benefit the city of Los Angeles. It’ll benefit the state of California,” said Garrett. For more information and to support their campaign visit www.freshstax.com. Your email address will not be published. Experience the city of PejačevićPhoto: Virovitica Tourist Board Tourist maps of the city of Virovitica with marked sights, service information, catering and accommodation facilities were also printed and distributed. Considering the numerous new contents in the city of Virovitica, the plan is to make a new study of brown signalization and to install all the missing signs, as well as to replace the old and worn-out signs. As part of this project, preference will be given to renters, ie adequate marking of all accommodation facilities in the city of Virovitica. Amendments to the Program of Work and Rebalance of the Financial Plan of the Tourist Board of the City of Virovitica, adopted at the first session of the Assembly the plan covers several segments. Guest safety Source: Virovitica Tourist Board Free tickets for Pejačević Castle and Virovitica City Museum The first one is certainty, which refers to the safety of tourists, which is especially important for choosing a visit to a destination. The year marked by the corona crisis is precisely this segment that is most important. Virovitica Tourist Board financed the purchase of cotton masks with the sign of the Pejačević Castle and the inscription “Greetings from Virovitica”. The masks are intended for employees of accommodation facilities, but also for guests who, in addition to protection during their stay, also serve as a souvenir that they can take and thus further promote Virovitica. In addition, disinfectants and medical masks were distributed to all Virovitica landlords. COVID-19 has left a mark on the number of arrivals and overnight stays. Therefore, the Tourist Board of the City of Virovitica has prepared a promotion by which visitors for each night spent in a registered commercial accommodation facility in the city of Virovitica in the period from September 15 to October 15, 2020 as a gift get a free ticket for Pejačević Castle and Virovitica City Museum. For this action, the Tourist Board is also financing a promotional campaign called “Experience the city of Pejačević” on social networks, portals and in the press. The coronavirus pandemic has caused numerous cancellations in Croatia and around the world. This resulted in reduced number of visits, ie arrivals and overnight stays of tourists in a large number of destinations, especially continental ones. One such destination is also Virovitica, whose tourist board has decided to redirect the funds provided for the events that have been canceled by the decisions of the Headquarters so far, to the implementation of the support plan for Virovitica landlords. Visibility This year has shown the importance of visibility, especially on the Internet, and it has also shown how a large number of renters have neglected this particular segment of business. Namely, some accommodation facilities do not have their own websites nor are they present on internet platforms. In order to help Virovitica landlords and increase their visibility to potential guests, the Tourist Board of Virovitica will finance website design all accommodation facilities in the City area. Listed the website will also be available in English. In addition to the website, it will also be activated Facebook and Instagram profiles of each individual accommodation facility. The Tourist Board of the City of Virovitica will finance the purchase of photographs and the lease of copyrights, and provide the texts needed for the content of the new website. But Barca said on Monday they are no longer willing to play Girona in Miami because of a lack of support for the idea, although the Catalan giants remain open to the possibility if and when it is backed from all quarters.”The Barcelona board of directors have agreed to withdraw their disposal to play their game against Girona in Miami, after noting a lack of consensus over this proposal,” their statement said. Related News Barcelona pulls out of plan to play LaLiga game in Miami “FC Barcelona were and remain willing to play a LaLiga game in Miami, and accepted that income from the game would be shared amongst all Primera Division and Segunda Division clubs, following the same criteria of television rights money distribution, but consider that this project will not prosper until there is an agreement between all parties.”Barça were and still are willing to play in Miami, but consider that the project will not prosper until there is an agreement between all parties involved https://t.co/PWVMEPU9zz— FC Barcelona (@FCBarcelona) December 10, 2018And LaLiga issued a statement in response accepting Barca’s decision but confirming the deal with Relevant for matches to be hosted overseas is set to go ahead.”From LaLiga we want to congratulate FC Barcelona and Girona FC for their willingness to be pioneers in the voluntary intention to play a LaLiga match outside of Spain,” their statement said. “The LaLiga project with Relevent, signed for 15 years, continues. From the first moment we stated that participation in the game is voluntary and if FC Barcelona expresses its voluntary wish not to attend, this game scheduled in Miami can not be held on the agreed date.”From LaLiga we regret, as it could not be otherwise, the disappointment that may occur among our fans in the USA. We want to convey to all of them that, in the shortest possible time, LaLiga will play an official match in the USA, just like the major American leagues (NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL) outside their borders. “LaLiga will continue with the planned demand to claim that a match can be played outside of Spain, although it withdraws the precautionary measure referring to the specific match of January 26.”The statement also noted LaLiga’s lawsuit against the Royal Spanish Football Federation’s opposition to the plan to play a league game abroad will continue.FIFA president Gianni Infantino in October said he would block any attempt to take a LaLiga game to the US, while the Association of Spanish Footballers spoke out against the plan from Relevent, the company behind the International Champions Cup.
